Design
The reverse of the coin depicts a snowy egret. It is perched on a salt marsh branch and ready for flight. In the background is a flat island landscape of salt marshes.

The obverse of the 2018 Cumberland Island Quarter features a portrait of the first US president, George Washington. Along the rim are the inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "QUARTER DOLLAR", "LIBERTY", and "IN GOD WE TRUST".
