50 Dollars - Elizabeth II Maple Leaf in Motion, Canada

A single sugar maple (Acer saccharum) leaf is the focal point of this design by Canadian artist Matt Eggink. Against a laser-engraved relief pattern, the maple leafs multiple engraved facets are individually plated with either yellow or rose gold for high contrast and visual appeal. Ten more geometric shapesone for each Canadian maple speciesform a partial frame, while a special privy mark denotes the 25th anniversary (1996-2021) of the maples designation as the official national arboreal emblem of Canada.
