In the centre of the disc, on the matted silver surface a non-through gold insert reproducingthe relief images of the Ruble of the 1704 year of issue: to the left, on its reverse a portrait of Peter I in profile, the indication of the metal sign, the fineness: Au 900 and the fine metal content: 4,66, the inscriptionalong the rim: () [T (a)r Peter Alexeevich Sovereign of all Russia]; to the right,on its obverse the two-headed eagle with Scepter and Power, higher the Great Crown, the inscription along the rim: (Genuine coin of one Ruble denomination).

In the centre – the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower – the semicircular inscription – «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top – «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE ROUBLES), at the bottom – the year of issue «2004», the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness , to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
