The design shows on the left hand the effigy of His Royal Highness, the Grand Duke Henri, and a ballot box where a ballot paper is being inserted by a hand to the right and the country name below. At the top, the inscription ‘Centenaire du suffrage universel’ (Centenary of the universal franchise) in a semicircle and the dates ‘1919 - 2019’ below and the second date being the year of issuing. The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
